Общественная организация г. о. Тольятти клуб «ЛЮБИТЕЛИ ПРИРОДЫ» поддерживает единственный в городе орнитологический приют. Его сотрудники на добровольных началах спасают жизни пернатых. Несмотря на отсутствие финансирования федерального и регионального уровней, волонтёры принимают под опеку раненых особей. Работа осуществляется благодаря добровольным взносам неравнодушных граждан.

В начале июля рыбак заметил раненого коршуна на побережье Волги. Жизнь птицы могла закончиться из-за травмы крыла, которая не давала ему взлететь. Неравнодушный житель мкр. Фёдоровка аккуратно поднял особь и принёс домой. Супруга спасителя Светлана Пирогова оперативно отправилась в единственный городской приют для птиц.

Волонтёры осмотрели особь и оказали помощь. Выяснилось, что коршун получил огнестрельное ранение. Серьёзные повреждения крыла не позволят больше птице летать. Но под опекой специалистов она сможет жить. Птица дополнит семью зооуголка.
